Thyra is a Swedish Americana and country duo consisting of the creative pair Karin Thyr Eriksson and Göran Eriksson.
With strong roots in the Scandinavian storytelling tradition and inspired by the rich musical heritage of the American South, they have established themselves as a natural voice on the Nordic Americana scene.
Both Karin and Göran have long been active as songwriters, musicians, and producers, with experience ranging from international tours to high-profile television productions. Together, they were responsible for the live music in SVT’s acclaimed series Jills Veranda, a program fronted by Jill Johnson that helped bring the country genre to a wide audience.
The duo’s merits include gold and platinum records for their unique versions of Robyn’s Dancing on My Own and Katy Perry’s Firework. They have also achieved international success with their cover of “Ugly Heart”, streamed millions of times worldwide.
Their own song “Witchcraft” was featured on the soundtrack of the video game LAKE, reaching an audience of millions on YouTube and digital platforms.
With the albums “Nashville Songs and Stories” and “Stockholm Tennessee”, Thyra has deepened its presence on both the Swedish and international Americana scenes. Their music is characterized by heartfelt lyrics, guitars, vocal harmonies, and a sound that moves seamlessly between folk, country, and Americana – always with an emotional edge that resonates with audiences.
In addition to their work with Thyra, Karin and Göran have collaborated with some of the most renowned artists, musicians, and songwriters in both Sweden and Nashville.
Thyra delivers concerts that feel just as natural on major festival stages as in intimate concert halls – always with heart, soul, and a musical journey that brings the audience closer to Nashville, no matter where in the world they are.
