Americana Duo Found Home Between Stockholm and Tennessee

Some musical journeys begin with geography. Ours began with songs.

As Thyra & Magnolia Road, we've spent more than three decades writing, performing and living music together. Home is Sweden, but for over a decade we've also been part of the Nashville songwriting community—writing with American songwriters, performing in legendary listening rooms and discovering that Americana isn't defined by where you're born.

It's defined by how honestly you tell a story.

That realization changed everything.

Americana gave us permission to stop trying to fit inside someone else's definition of country music. Instead of chasing a sound, we focused on writing songs about the lives we actually knew—love that lasts, difficult choices, family, distance, hope and the roads that connect them.

When you've shared life for more than thirty years, harmony becomes more than singing the right notes. You learn when to step forward and when to leave space. You know each other's strengths, but you also know the stories that haven't been written yet.

Many of our songs begin as conversations rather than melodies. One idea leads to another, a single lyric becomes a chorus, and eventually the song finds its own direction.

That shared history can't be manufactured.

Audiences often tell us they don't just hear two voices—they hear a relationship.

Nashville Taught Us to Tell Better Stories

People often assume Nashville changed our sound. In reality, it changed our writing.

Years spent writing with Nashville songwriters—and performing in iconic listening rooms like The Bluebird Café, The Listening Room Café and Douglas Corner Café—taught us that great songs don't need complicated language.

They need honesty.

In Nashville, every lyric has to earn its place. Every chorus has to say something worth remembering. That philosophy still shapes every song we write.

Nashville Songs & Stories: More Than a Concert

Whether we're performing with our full band or in our Nashville Songs & Stories)format, we've always believed audiences deserve more than a set list.

The story behind a song often changes how it's heard.

That's why our concerts combine original Americana music, close vocal harmonies and the stories that inspired the songs—from Nashville writing sessions to moments from everyday life in Sweden.

It's less about performing at an audience and more about inviting them into the room. Nashville Songs & Stories is more than a concert, it's an invitation into the songwriting room. Together with our band, Thyra & Magnolia Road bring the spirit of Nashville to audiences through authentic Americana and country music, heartfelt storytelling, and dynamic live performance.

While the music always takes center stage, the stories create the connection. Inspired by years of songwriting in Nashville and more than three decades of making music together, each performance gives audiences a glimpse into the moments that inspired the songs—from life on the road to the everyday experiences that shape great songwriting.

Whether you're discovering our music for the first time or returning as a longtime listener, every concert is designed to feel personal, engaging, and memorable.

Swedish Roots. Nashville Heart.

We don't think music needs a passport.

The best Americana has always crossed borders because it speaks a language everyone understands: honest stories, memorable melodies and songs that stay with you long after the last note fades. That's the music we hope to make.

Music shaped by Swedish landscapes. Inspired by Nashville. Written for anyone who's ever loved, lost, started over or simply needed a good song for the journey.
